Blue Marine Foundation is a leading marine conservation charity dedicated to protecting and preserving the world’s oceans. Their impactful initiatives focus on creating marine protected areas, focusing on combating overfishing and deep sea mining.
As an Artist, Mariya has always been inspired by nature, flora and fauna. After meeting with Blue Marine Foundation and learning about their impactful work to protect the Oceans and marine life, Mariya was instantly inspired to channel her creative energy into crafting something extraordinary to capture their mission in a piece of Art. Her ‘Oceanic Blue Whale’ acrylic on canvas was Mariya’s first ever piece depicting sea life and captures a mesmerising portrayal of the under water world. The majestic blue whale at its centre is surrounded by a vibrant array of fish, tortoises, enigmatic octopuses, graceful seahorses, spirited crabs, ethereal jellyfish and radiant starfish. This artwork bursts with vibrant colours and dynamic energy, encapsulating the urgent need to protect and preserve life within our oceans.
Working with Aspinal of London, ‘Oceanic Blue Whale’ has been transformed into a stunning silk scarf and silk pocket square, with all net proceeds going to support the essential work of The Blue Marine Foundation.

“I’m a strong believer in our collective responsibility to tackle the climate emergency and to offer support, education, and motivation for initiatives, no matter their scale, on a daily basis. Upon learning about the impactful work of the Blue Marine Foundation, I was instantly inspired to channel my creative energy into crafting something extraordinary for their cause.
