Exploring creative boundaries led Mariya to embark on an olfactory journey, working on translating colours and designs into fragrance. Passionate about flowers which often feature in her designs and artwork, Mariya’s family home and garden in West Sussex is abundant with an array of carefully nurtured scented flowers. When Aspinal of London decided to work with a prestigious French Fragrance House, Mariya led the project to capture the DNA, aesthetic and iconic heritage of the brand in scent form, heavily inspired by her beloved English country garden. Green Rose in particular is a homage to the garden’s roses, freesias and jasmine and also inspired Mariya’s ‘A Rose By Any Other Name’ artwork. The Fragrance project took three years to complete and the first three Aspinal of London scents, Green Rose, Musky Fig, Ochre Spice launched in 2024.

Mariya Dykalo was invited to work alongside a coterie of female creative talent by Interior Designer extraordinaire Dara Huang, who led the The Arc Project, a £1.8 million show home in East London. Dara’s vision was to assemble a powerhouse of designers and creative talent to celebrate female empowerment and collaboration in one beautiful space. Mariya selected her ‘Blooming in the Darkness’ artwork to transform into cushions to decorate the space, adding a touch of luxury and sophistication to the apartment’s interiors. This original design has also featured in the Aspinal of London silk scarf collection, with all proceeds from the scarves sales going to the Olena Pinchuk Foundation, to support children born with HIV in Ukraine.

Connected by their mutual charity efforts, Mariya Dykalo and Olena Pinchuk have worked together on charity partnerships since 2023 between Aspinal of London and the Olena Pinchuk Foundation. As a proud Ukrainian, passionate about her country and people, Mariya is a devoted supporter of Ukrainian relief efforts. For the Olena Pinchuk Foundation, she has designed a limited-edition collection of four Aspinal of London accessories. Each piece gives the wearer a meaningful expression of support for the people of Ukraine and raises money for the essential works carried out by the Foundation to support HIV positive children.

Children’s Day at St Mary’s Ukrainian School: ‘We Can Dream Again’ Mariya Dykalo joined St Mary’s Ukrainian School in London, on International Children’s Day to lead the pupils in a Creative Art Therapy session. This was a special project dear to Mariya's heart as these children aged between five and ten, have all been affected by the war in their homeland and are now in London studying at the school. The Creative Art Therapy session was designed to foster resilience, curiosity, and a lifelong love of creative learning in a safe environment for children living in a new country and learning a new language. Mariya worked with the children to create a collage which has been named ‘We Can Dream Again'.

In celebration of our buzzing friends, our Bee Collection brings together 15 bee inspired pieces. At the collection's centre, the new Our Planet of Bees Scarf shines a spotlight on our bee population, illustrating a buzzing wildflower meadow in a singing palette of blues, pinks, and yellows.

The Blue Marine Foundation strives to protect the oceans and the eco-systems within in it, particularly in terms of over-fishing and deep sea mining, which destroys delicate marine life. As a passionate conservationist and lover of wildlife, Mariya was immediately drawn to the mission of the Foundation and was delighted to partner with them to create artwork to support their charity. ‘I’m a strong believer in our collective responsibility to tackle the climate emergency and to offer support, education, and motivation for initiatives, no matter their scale, on a daily basis.’
