A heartfelt thank you to Cowdray Estate for planting sunflowers each summer. They don’t just brighten the landscape—they carry deep meaning. As a Ukrainian, sunflowers are more than just beautiful blooms; they are our national flower, a symbol of strength, resilience, and unwavering hope.
Their golden fields inspired me to create “The Spirit of Cowdray Polo” (150x100cm), a painting I brought to life while watching Cowdray polo on the lawn—an experience as timeless as the quintessential English countryside itself. A moment where two worlds met—my love for England’s heritage and the enduring spirit of Ukraine.
As we mark three years since the war began, these sunflowers stand as a powerful reminder of the courage and endurance of the Ukrainian people. Even in the darkest times, the sunflower turns towards the light—just as Ukraine continues to stand tall in the face of adversity.
