In honour of World Oceans Day, this piece is a celebration of the beauty and mystery of marine life. Oceanic Blue Whale captures an imagined underwater world — with a majestic blue whale at its centre, surrounded by gliding tortoises, curious octopuses, graceful seahorses, playful crabs, ethereal jellyfish, and radiant starfish.
To evoke the natural movement and fluidity of the ocean, I used pourable paints to create flowing, layered textures — allowing the colours to swirl and drift like currents underwater. The result is a piece full of energy and rhythm, echoing the pulse of ocean life.
Bursting with vibrant colour and flowing energy, the work is a reminder of the wonder that lies beneath the surface — and the importance of protecting our oceans for generations to come.
