Maria Dykalo / Fine Art / Tapestry of an English Garden Part 4 , 2024
Tapestries of my English Garden, Part 4 —a homage to the very place where these works come to life . Nestled in the idyllic South Downs National Park of West Sussex, my garden overflows with vibrant flowers and quiet beauty. It is both refuge and muse.
Through vivid colours, layered textures, and expressive light, I try to capture the essence of daisies, sunflowers, dahlias, gladioli, and the surrounding natural world. Each painting is an invitation to wander through the luminous English summer, to breathe deeply among these floral jewels, to lose and find oneself in nature’s rhythm.
This piece is part of a larger exploration—a kind of dialogue between what is seen and what is felt, between the external landscape and the inner world. Flowers, to me, are nature’s true treasures. In painting them, I hope not only to convey their beauty but also to share the silent wisdom they hold.
