The SUNFLOWER SERIES was created as an homage to the national flower of Ukraine; the sunflower, which is an historic symbol for hope and peace.
SUNFLOWERS is the original piece of the series, with acrylic applied by palette knife for depth and texture.
The sunflowers represent the Ukrainian people who fight in hope, as well as for the lives tragically lost during the conflict.
The ebullient yellow flowers lie on a backdrop of blue sky, which together represent the colours of the Ukrainian flag.
